.com is getting a makeover

I am finally learning how to use real website designing software. So i am giving my site a face lift. I am almost done but keep running into roadblocks. hopefully the sight will be up and running one the first or shortly after. it looks like the older site just with more class. if you look at my banner for a little taste of whats to come.

MERRY (belated) CHRISTMAS!!!

Well, I hope you all had a merry Christmas. I certainly did. Except one present I really didn't enjoy was a huge bill from UMKC. So it looks I might be there next semester. So that ill give me a little more time work on photography but its going pretty slow right now. Well here are some photos of my niece Addison who pretty much stole the show this Christmas. This is her first and last year being the youngest at Christmas so I figured I would take some shots before her sibling comes along and steals the show. Here are some pre-Christmas photos:

Brennan's Portraits

When Faith came to me and asked me to take pictures of her son I was a little nervous because I haven't really taken any pictures of kids yet. Thankfully Brennan made it real easy for me. He is a real fun kid. He had a smile on the whole time and was really energetic. He was all about getting his picture taken, he kept saying "get a picture of me doing this". He wasn't too interested in being posed though, cause those were "boring". It was a little hard to get pictures sometimes because he was all over the place, but that is part of being a kid. I wish there was more daylight so I could have gotten more pictures. here are some of my favorites:

Bands Across Kansas City

well it's been over a week since I took these photos so i figured it would be about time to put them on here. I went to the Bands across Kansas City finals at the Beaumont Club on the 20th. Catch up

well, I haven't posted anything lately but a lot has been going on. I finally got the mintier I won from working at Best Buy, and boy does 5 inches make a difference. a 20" monitor makes editing so much faster, especially with a 15.4"right next to it. this has helped my work flow speed up a lot. It seems like I always have lightroom or photoshop on the big screen and stuff to distract me on the small screen. that's right I made the switch to lightroom. i was very hesitant after using canon's DPP but after I made the switch I am never going back. If you are a photographer you NEED lightroom. I could go on all day about it. Here is my sweet setup.

My niece turned 1 last week and I got her this sweet chair. Once I saw it I knew I had to get it for her. It's like a little pink throne for a princess.

Tomorrow I am photographing Kansas City's Local Music Playoffs at the Beaumont Club. The event is hosted by Bands Across Kansas City. I am pretty excited about this gig but I am even more excited about what's going to be happening next year. So far I think I am going to be doing 2 weddings which I am pretty excited about. Hopefully I will do good and this so called business will take off. I even made cool business cards which I have bee handing out like they are going out of style. If you haven't gotten one I'm sure you'll be getting one soon.

Pete + Johnna

well, i finished up my first engagement shoot. I really had no idea what to expect but all in all i think they came out pretty well. I was also really nervous because they were my first actual "clients". Anyway, Pete and Johnna are a great couple, i am really stoked about them getting married. I had a great time taking their photos and getting to hang out with them. plus, they are very photogenic which made my job a lot easier. I hope you like the pictures. Since this was my first enagement shoot it was hard for me to pick just a few I liked, so i put a lot on here but there are a lot more I wanted to put on here too.
